A Complete B&G Overhaul for SY Happy Spirit II
SY Happy Spirit II - a fiberglass Ocean 60 yacht receives a complete a B&G electronics overhaul, with gear supplied, certified and commissioned by Advance Trident. Happy Spirit II originally had Raymarine Electronics installed, which was replaced by a completely integrated B&G System, which each component interacts with each other, and is very user friendly, intuitive, yet highly advanced. Alex Bai from Advance Trident who oversaw the project said that "the new B&G Equipment will offer advanced and reliable electronics for the years to come, and giving her the ability to not only explore New Zealand, but traverse oceans too. This project is a great example of the ability for us to add new B&G electronics to replace any older installed equipment"
The B&G Electronics Package includes:
- B&G Zeus3 9-Inch Multifunction Display
- Triton2 Displays & Instruments
- NAC-3 Auto Pilot System for long voyages
- Forward Scanning Transducer for exploring uncharted waters
- Integrated AIS computer for safety
The Ocean 60 range of yachts were originally produced as a long range cruiser in the 1980s, and is world-renowned for their ocean crossing abilities. The proud and fastidious owner mentioned after the commissioning: "this is a great combination of old and new, we have an older boat built with tradition, while the new B&G gear modernises her for the years to come. I look forward to our adventures aboard her around New Zealand, then who knows where we'll go".
